Today I got a message from my sister. She’s in Paris. She’s speaking trying to speak french. It’s funny and a bit sad.
Soon, I’ll be over in Europe as well – Italy, France and England.
I can’t wait to spend a few days in London. I won’t have to worry about stammering over my poor french or italian skills. I’ll only have to worry about mucking up my metro transfers or getting lost above ground in a maze of criss crossing streets.
I can’t stop listening to The Clash….
Before I go, I want to know if there is anything off the norm I should make sure to do/see. Ideas?
What would you pack to wear? Types of jewelry, shoes, ect?

It’s time for the beach, and I can’t wait…except for the bathing suit part. I figure why not wear pearls to the beach – give them a taste of home.
This style board features a Twilight Mystic Fire bracelet:
And my two favorites, the rose quartz & pearl diamond ring and the flowery pink & white opal ring:
This Thursday, I am flying to San Diego, hence the seaside-themed board. I won’t have time for a jaunt at the beautiful beaches as I have to immediately head back via vehicle, but may have time to oggle the seals on the shore. Possibly some Navy Seals as well. However, it will be dark so it will be a lot less fun.
Until my return, a question: Pearls come from the sea. They’re natural. They’re beautiful. How could anyone ever think they had gone out of style or were matronly?
Do you wear pearls? If so, what type? (earrings, necklace, pendant, ect.)
Dyed or naturally colored?
Irregular or regular?
Yes. All types, especially a string of pearls. I prefer natural, but peacock teal or magenta pearls seem to always find a way into my jewelry box. Depends – I like them all. Irregulars are affordable and the perfectly round Akoyas are investments. Investments in style. I like those kind of investments the best. My stock portfolio disagrees.

Mother’s Day is May 10th. Though I have no children, I did have a mother. Yet, it is not until recently that I’ve begun to realize the extent to which I was loved by her.
I am new to the blog world…the blogosphere…the whole thing… and I feel lucky to have stumbled (sometimes quite literally) onto some of the most engaging blogs on the Internet. I’ve found the ladies who share their everyday extraordinary with the world. I’ve found the moms who love their children more than anything else in the world. I’ve found the mom blogs.
The stories they tell, the pictures they share, the worries they have and the love they express is unconditional; I am in total awe of these women.
Though my mother passed away when I was a teenager, I think about her almost daily. I am blessed to have had someone like her in my life to scold me for my messiness, to correct my grammar, to cater to my needs when I was ill or scared, to comfort me with words only a mother knows and to teach me how to be me.
This Mother’s Day – any day, everyday – tell your mom you appreciate her.
Let her know you’re thankful for her incessant worrying. Let he know your grateful for those bedtime stories. Let her know she still is and will always be your rock. This Mother’s Day, I want to thank all of the moms, including my own, for excelling at the most difficult job there is.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

I had a dream last night. I was on a beach. It was dark but the stars were so bright I could see everything. The only footprints on the sand were my own. A sail boat bobbed in the distance and it was slightly windy. The air smelled so sweet.
I want to go to the sea – not the crystal clear waters in the tropics but the dark, cold violence of a northern ocean. It always seems saltier there.
Fashion tells a story. What’s yours?
